OMAHA, Neb. — Despite 11 team blocks led by five each from juniors Becky Pavan and Gretchen Giesler, the 14th-ranked Kentucky volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22) match to No. 9 Iowa State, Sunday on the final day of the Runza/AVCA Showcase.

“Iowa State did a great job responding after its loss yesterday and the loss of one of its players,” UK coach Craig Skinner said. “It is an experienced team and they stepped up and made plays when they needed to, which is what Kentucky needs to learn how to do. Getting over the hump of not giving up runs of points will help this team learn how to win together.”
