AUBURN, Ala. –– After Kentucky and No. 29 Auburn began the top of the first inning and played 11 minutes, the game was suspended due to inclement weather at Plainsman Park. The series will resume with a doubleheader Sunday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.

UK loaded the bases with one out in the top of the first inning, with Lance Ray at the plate, before play was suspended. The regularly-scheduled Saturday game will resume at 11:30 a.m. ET as a nine-inning contest. The second game of the doubleheader will consist of seven innings and will be played immediately following the first game.

UK opened the top of the first inning with a walk to Chris Bisson on a 3-2 count. After Andy Burns struck out and Bisson stole second base, Chad Wright drew a walk on four pitches, with Bisson and Wright executing a double steal to put both runners in scoring position. Braden Kapteyn drew a walk to load the bases for Ray. Before Ray could get into the box to hit, the game was halted at 1:01 p.m. ET.

Kentucky (22-16, 5-11 Southeastern Conference) was slated to start freshman right-hander Jordan Cooper in his first career SEC start. Auburn (26-13, 9-7 SEC) starter Cole Nelson threw 20 pitches to start the game, walking three and striking out one.
