LEXINGTON, Ky. – Doron Lamb has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at the University of Kentucky, head coach John Calipari announced on Friday.

A senior at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., Lamb ranks 29th on ESPNU’s Top 100, 21st overall by Rivals.com and is rated the No. 3 shooting guard by Scout.com recruiting services.

“Doron is a terrific guard from New York and Oak Hill who will come in and contribute right away,” Calipari said. “With the Dribble Drive Motion and the way we play, his ability to score and his mid-range game will flourish.  I think he’s going to be a great defender and a great addition for us at Kentucky.”

The 6-foot-4 Lamb, who hails from Laurelton, N.Y., spent his last two years at Oak Hill where he averaged 23.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 4.0 apg this past season. The 2010 McDonald’s All-American tallied 12 points in the McDonald’s All-American game, helping lead the West team to a 107-104 victory.

Lamb also participated in the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic All-American game along with future UK teammate Brandon Knight. He finished with 11 points in helping lead the West to a 129-125 win.

Lamb joins Enes Kanter, Knight and Stacey Poole Jr. in UK’s 2010 signing class.
