INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA announced the field of participants for the 2010 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships beginning March 18 at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind. Kentucky will be represented by juniors Lindsey Graessle and Chatham Penrod, senior Megan Pulskamp and junior Kayla Sergesketter.
With numerous teams and individuals achieving outstanding times this season, the NCAA limited the field to the 14 fastest relay times in the country and the 32 fastest individual times.
The quartet will team together for both the 200 and 400-medley relays on the campus of the Purdue Boilermakers. Kentucky’s 200-medley relay holds the 14th best time in the nation with a clip of 1:38.78.
Pulskamp will compete in three individual events. A reigning All-America honorable mention selection from her 15th place finish in the 100-butterfly in her junior season, she will once again take to the lanes in her marquee event. She will also compete in the 50 and 100-free races.
Penrod achieved NCAA `B’ marks in both backstroke events. Kentucky’s owner of the school record in both events, she is a three-time member of the NCAA Championship team for the Wildcats.
Graessle will be among the field in the 100-breaststroke for the third consecutive season. She holds a time of 1:02.79 in the event heading into the national competition.
