LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky rifle standouts Ashley Jackson and Megan English won the individual titles at the Lexington Sectional of the NCAA qualifying round, held at UK’s Barker Hall Saturday and Sunday.

Jackson claimed the individual title in smallbore, posting a 584 total score, while English, a sophomore, added the match-best score in air rifle, a 593, also a personal best. UK had the top five shooters in smallbore and the top nine shooters in air rifle in the match, which included Virginia Military Institute and Morehead State.

In addition, UK freshman Stacy Wheatley added a personal best 586 in air rifle.

Kentucky posted a total team score of 4646 with both the first and second team charting the same score, speaking to the depth of the program.

The Wildcats will return to action Feb. 20-21 at the Great American Rifle Conference Championships, hosted by Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss.
