LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky men’s soccer program will hold two sessions of its High School Camp at the Nutter Indoor Field House, UK head coach Ian Collins announced.
The High School Camp will be held on Sat., Feb. 13 and Sat., March 6 at the Nutter Indoor Field House. Check in is slated for 10 a.m. ET each day, with the camp lasting until 7 p.m. The camp is intended to give the high school player a glimpse into collegiate soccer, focusing on strength and conditioning, technical and tactical training sessions, academic importance, the use of video elements in the game and 11 v. 11 small sided competitive games. The camp is open to male soccer players from ages 15-18.
Players may register for one or both of the High School Camp.
The Kentucky soccer team is coming off a 13-win season in 2009 that saw UK jump out to a school record start to the campaign and climb to a program-best No. 13 national ranking. Following the season, UK senior defender Barry Rice was named to a slew of All-America teams, becoming the first UK player to win All-America accolades in consecutive seasons in the 19-year history of the program. In addition, Rice was tabbed one of the top 10 high school players in the decade by ESPN.
