Team Records and Series Notes

• Kentucky moves to 6-0 with the win, while McNeese State is now 2-3.
• With the victory, Kentucky sets the school record for most wins in November with six. The previous record of five was set by the 1984-85 team. Kentucky’s all-time mark in November is 83-38.
• UK is 6-0 to start a season for the first time since 2005-06 when the Wildcats opened 8-0. UK’s best start in school history is 9-0 during 1980-81.
• UK improves to 314-138 (.694) in Memorial Coliseum, including a 24-10 (.705) mark under Mitchell.
• Today’s was the first meeting between UK and McNeese State. Kentucky improves to 3-0 against teams from the Southland Conference.
• UK now owns a 581-447 all-time record in 36 years of varsity women’s basketball.
• Matthew Mitchell’s career mark improves to 69-61, including a 39-32 record at Kentucky. Mitchell is 1-0 all-time against McNeese State.

• Kentucky’s 85-50 win marked its largest margin of victory (+35) since a 74-35 win over Furman on Dec.6, 2008.
• UK is now 254-19 (.965) when scoring 80 points or more, including an 8-1 mark under Mitchell. UK is 3-0 this season when scoring over 80 points.
• Key Run: Kentucky took control of the game midway through the first half, erasing a 12-9 deficit with a 15-0 run over a six-minute span. Six different Wildcats scored during the run lead by Victoria Dunlap’s four points. The Wildcats pressure defense forced seven Cowgirls turnover during the spurt and 13 in the first half overall.
• The Wildcats forced 25 turnovers today. UK has forced 20 or more turnovers in four of six games this season, including a season-high 29 against Boston (11/13/09) in the season opener.
• Kentucky forced 13 first-half turnovers for the second consecutive game.
• UK shot 50.8 percent from the floor (32-of-63), marking the first time the Cats have hit 50 percent or better since vs. South Carolina (3/1/09).
• UK’s 32 field goals were a season high. It is the most field goal made since the Cats hit 35 vs. Yale (11/28/08).
• UK dished out a season-high 21 assists. It marks the most assists since recording 22 assists vs. USC-Upstate (11/10/07).
• Kentucky forced McNeese State into 28.8 percent field goal shooting for the game. It’s the first time a UK opponent shot under 30 percent since South Carolina shot 23.6 percent (13-of-55) on Feb. 5, 2009.
• The Wildcats’ 85-50 win, marked the fourth consecutive game Kentucky has held an opponent under 60 points. No opponent has scored over 66 against the Cats this season.
• UK has scored at least 65 points in all six games this season.
• Kentucky has now hit a three-pointer in 190 consecutive games, dating back to 2003-04.
• For the sixth consecutive game Coach Mitchell started Amber Smith, Victoria Dunlap, Amani Franklin, Carly Morrow, A’dia Mathies.
• UK won the tip for the sixth-straight game. Victoria Dunlap has jumped center in all six games.

Individual Game Notes

• Junior forward Victoria Dunlap scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-14 field goal shooting to go along with six rebounds three steals and three blocked shots. Dating back to last season, Dunlap has scored in double digits in 12 consecutive games and has swiped at least one steal in 14 consecutive games.
• Dunlap’s three blocks today pushed her into eighth place on UK’s career blocked shots list with 75. She moves past Jody Runge (74 from 1980-84).
• Freshman guard A’dia Mathies had 16 points with a career-high eight field goals. She has scored in double figures in five of six games this season.
• Sophomore guard Keyla Snowden posted a UK career-high 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field. She scored 11 of her 13 in the first half.
• Senior guard Amani Franklin added eight points and 10 rebounds. The effort marked the third time this season Franklin has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in a game.
• Point guard Amber Smith tied a career high with eight assists. She also handed out eight against Tennessee (1/8/09).
• Freshman center Anna Cole played a career-high five minutes, with a free throw, two rebounds and two blocked shots.
• Junior forward Lydia Watkins pulled down a season-high seven rebounds.
