LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 12th-ranked Kentucky volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory Friday night at Arkansas for its SEC-leading 11th conference victory of the season and will return to action on Sunday with a date against Ole Miss. The match is set to air live on Fox Sports South and will be the fifth live television broadcast for the Blue and White this season.

Against Arkansas, Kentucky (21-2, 11-1) had four players attain 10 or more kills in the match for the first time since Nov. 28, 2008. Junior Sarah Mendoza led the way with 16 and was followed by sophomore Becky Pavan’s 13 hammers. Junior Lauren Rapp and sophomore Gretchen Giesler each chipped in with 10 kills. Senior setter Sarah Rumely dished out 49 assists in spreading around the offensive production in the victory. It was the sixth-straight win over Arkansas for the Blue and White.

The Rebels hold an 8-15 overall clip and a 2-11 mark in SEC after dropping a 3-1 matchup with Tennessee on Friday night. Ole Miss is paced by Katie Norris’ 3.74 kills per set and Morgan Springer’s 4.00 digs per frame. The Rebels have won the last three meetings against UK at the Gillom Sports Complex. Kentucky leads the all-time series by a 29-11 margin.

In the previous meeting between the two squads UK took a 3-0 victory over the visiting Rebels on Sept. 25.

The then ranked 17th Kentucky volleyball team used a masterful offensive attack in its dominating 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-11) sweep of Ole Miss in front of 1,706 fans at Memorial Coliseum. The Blue and White totaled a season-best .420 hitting percentage in the win. Mendoza posted 16 kills on a season-high .500 hitting percentage. Kentucky turned back five Ole Miss attacks, but limited the Rebels to just .171 hitting for the match. Ole Miss posted 15 hitting errors and five service errors.
