LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky football team continues to receive votes in the Coaches/USA Today top-25 poll released Sunday. The Wildcats received 16 points and are the No. 11 team among the “others receiving votes,” equivalent of 36th overall.

UK is 2-0 on the season after defeating Louisville, 31-27, on Saturday. It was Kentucky’s third-consecutive win in the Governor’s Cup game and 16th-straight non-conference win.

Injury Update: Coach Rich Brooks gave an injury update on his Sunday teleconference. Ironically, the most serious injury from the Louisville game occurred when Derrick Locke crashed into offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Randy Sanders when Locke was knocked out-of-bounds. Sanders sustained a broken arm and Brooks reported that it does not appear at this time that the injury will require surgery.

Brooks also said that defensive end DeQuin Evans (hip flexor), center Jorge Gonzalez (knee sprain), cornerback Trevard Lindley (bruised knee) and cornerback Randall Burden (sprained neck) sustained injuries in the Louisville game. All four players hope to return to practice at some point this week.

Brooks noted that wide receiver Kyrus Lanxter is still out with a hamstring strain and is questionable to doubtful to play against Florida.
