LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s basketball head coach Matthew Mitchell will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants game Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio. Game time is 12:35 p.m. ET.

Mitchell, a right-hander, is an avid Reds fan.

“I fell in love with the Big Red Machine back when I was about five or six years old,” Mitchell said. “I wore Johnny Bench’s number when I was a catcher. It will be an honor to throw out the first pitch and stand on the mound at the Great American Ballpark.”
