LEXINGTON, Ky. – A week after turning in a remarkable performance at the 2009 World Championships, senior swimmer Elvis Burrows was rated among the world’s top-100 swimmers in two events.

Burrows is rated No. 47 in the world in the 50-butterfly and No. 69 in the world in the 50-freestyle by SwimNews.com and FINA.

At the World Championships, Burrows tapped in a career-best time of 23.74 for his 26th place finish in the 50-fly. He also earned a top-30 finish in the 50-free with a personal-best time of 23.19 for 29th place in the event.The Bahamas native notched three individual best times during his week in Rome, turning in a spectacular all-around performance in his second major international event in two summers. Burrows was a member of the Bahamas national team for the 2008 Olympics as well.
