LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari and his staff will travel around the state of Kentucky in August to teach the game of basketball to the youth of the Commonwealth with an upcoming series of basketball instructional day camps.
The tour will include five sessions in four cities, beginning with an Aug. 14 stop in Maysville. The tour will head to Pikeville for two sessions on Aug. 15, followed by a stop in Hazard on Aug. 16 and will conclude Madisonville on Aug. 17.
The camps, which will include instruction from the Kentucky Basketball coaching staff, allow participants to learn the game of basketball through a fundamental, intensive learning environment. The camps will give individuals the chance to learn more about the game of basketball, introducing drills that can be used at home. The camps will also help the individuals develop positive attitudes, as well as gain more confidence on and off the court. In addition to learning the game, participants will also receive a Kentucky Basketball t-shirt, as well as opportunities for autographs and photos.
The fee for each camp is $75 per child. Registration is available at www.ukathletics.com. All camps will open at sites one hour before check-in. For more information, please contact Jason Walberg at (Jason.Walberg@uky.edu)
