SORRENTO, Fla. – Kentucky men’s golf is in sixth place after three players shot under par after the first 18 holes in NCAA regional play at the Red Tail Golf Club.

In the Wildcat’s fifth appearance in six years in NCAA postseason play, seniors Andy Winings Ben Fuqua led the charge on the first day. Winings is the top Wildcat after firing a 68 while currently sitting in a tie for 10th place. Fuqua shares the 14th place with a three-under par 69.

Haverford, Penn., native James Kania is the third Wildcat to finish the day under par after carding a 70, good for a tie in the 24th spot.

In his first NCAA postseason appearance, freshman Mads Kristensen notched a 74 en route to a tie for 60th.

Jordan Blann rounds out the scoring for Kentucky with a five-over par 77. The junior is tied for 71st.

The Wildcats return to the Red Tail Golf Club tract tomorrow morning with an 8:30 EDT tee time for the middle 18 of the three-day, 54-hole tournament.
