LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky football team practiced for two hours Friday morning as the Wildcats look ahead to the second major scrimmage of the spring.

“We had a good practice today,” Coach Rich Brooks said. “We had a 15-minute third-down scrimmage (at the end of practice). I was impressed with the speed and the hitting. The offense made some plays, more than we made last Saturday. We’ll see if it carries forward tomorrow in the scrimmage, but the receivers were making more plays today.”

Brooks also spoke of his goals for tomorrow’s workout.

“I’m looking for consistency,” Brooks said. “I’m looking for improvement in players, execution. I told the players we have five practices left to change people’s minds about rotation and playing time for the fall. Now, we’ll re-evaluate when fall practice starts, but how you finish spring goes a long way in where you start in the fall.”

Saturday’s practice begins at 10 a.m. in Commonwealth Stadium, with the scrimmage expected to begin at approximately 10:30. It is open to the public.

Spring Practice Calendar: Practices are open to media and fans. Practices are held at the Nutter Training Facility unless noted otherwise. Practices might be moved indoors to the Nutter Field House in case of bad weather.
