LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball players Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson have been named National Associate of Basketball (NABC) All-District performers.    

Meeks was named NABC First Team All-District in District 21, while Patterson was named a second team performer.

Meeks currently leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks fifth in the country in scoring with 25.0 ppg, while shooting 46.5 percent from the field, including 41.5 percent from three-point range. The 6-4 junior is also shooting 89.4 percent from the free throw line. His free throw percentage ranks seventh in the country.

Patterson currently leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally in field goal percentage (.626) and is the only player in the league to rank in the top five in the conference in scoring (18.5) and rebounding (9.1).

The 238 other student-athletes, from 24 districts which were realigned this season, are now eligible for the State Farm Coaches’ Division I All-America teams to be announced on Saturday, April 4, at Hoop City in the COBO Center at 10 a.m. as part of the 2009 NABC Convention in Detroit.
