BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –

After two stellar individual performances junior Megan Pulskamp and sophomore Jessie Snowden were named to the All-Southeastern Conference second team as announced by the league office.

In order to be considered for an All-SEC squad, an athlete must place in the top-two in his or her event. Pulskamp captured second in the 100-butterfly and Snowden placed second on the one-meter springboard.

Snowden was also a member of the All-SEC second team a year ago and a member of the All-SEC freshman team. She placed second on the platform a year ago en route to winning SEC Freshman Diver of the Year honors.

This marks the first such honor in Pulskamp’s career. After placing in the 11th in the 100-fly a year ago, Pulskamp touched in second in the event as a junior and secured the school record time.

For the weekend at the SEC Championships, Snowden also scored points with a 12th place finish on the three-meter board. She was unable to compete in the platform after suffering a wrist injury.

Pulskamp was a part of three school records in her incredible conference meet. In addition to her individual 100-fly record, Pulskamp swam the butterfly leg of the record-setting 200 and 400-medley relays.

Sergesketter Named to the Community Service Team
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts. Sophomore Kayla Sergesketter represented the UK swimming and diving teams on the 2009 squad.

Sergesketter has been active member in the community in Lexington. She has participated in a number of charitable events including God’s Pantry Food Drive, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. Additionally she was a volunteer for delivery for the SAAC during Halloween.
