Oct. 14, 2008

Lexington, Ky. – Kentucky women’s basketball will play on regional or national television a minimum of nine times for the 2008-09 season as the Southeastern Conference and Big Blue Sports Network TV schedule has been announced.

All nine of the regular-season games will be featured on Fox Sports Net South with five games broadcast by BBSN, UK’s local network that serves eight over-the-air stations and Fox Sports Net South on cable.

BBSN and FSN South will carry five UK games – East Tennessee State (Dec. 12), Arkansas (Jan. 11), Mississippi State (Jan. 18), LSU (Jan. 25) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 8).

The SEC schedule features four additional UK Hoops games televised on FSN South – at Florida (Jan. 29), Tennessee in Lexington (Feb. 19), Georgia in Lexington (Feb. 26) and at South Carolina (March 1).

In addition to a total of 101 live game telecasts, FSN South will televise a 30-minute SEC women’s basketball preview show, which features interviews with players and coaches from all 12 SEC schools. Specifically produced for each school and shot on location, the 30-minute preview shows provide an in-depth review of the 2007-2008 season, a preview of the 2008-09 campaign and exclusive interviews with key players and coaches.

FSN South, the nation’s largest regional sports network, reaches more than 12 million cable and satellite homes in seven states in the Southeast.

Three game times have been altered to accommodate the television network:
