On an unseasonably cool and windy day the Wildcats are in 14th place after the first 36 holes, shooting 309 and 310 for a 43-over-par, at the Prestige at PGA West.

Kentucky’s top finisher in the first two rounds, senior Andy Winings (Brownsburg, Ind.), shot two-over-par in the first round and six-over in the second to put him in a tie for 27th.

Texas Christian leads the field first-class field of 17 teams, including 10 ranked in the top 50 by Golfweek, with a team score of 583. The tournament-leading individual is UC Davis’ Nate Pistacchio after carding a five-under par in the first two rounds.

Freshman Mads Kristensen (Denmark) is tied for 39th after scoring a ten-over par and junior Jordan Blann (Bowling Green, Ky.) tied for 47th with a 77 and 78 for his 11-over par 155.

Rounding out the top two spots for Kentucky is senior Ben Fuqua (Danville, Ky.), who finished the long two rounds of golf with an 85 and 78 respectively for a tie for the 80th spot, and hometown boy junior Derek Oldham (Lexington, Ky.) finished the day twenty-over par.

The Wildcats return to the track tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. EST for the final 18 holes of the Prestige at PGA West on the Greg Norman Course.
