Lexington, Ky. – After a lengthy six game home stand, that included four straight conference games, the UK women’s soccer team hits the road for the first time this season in SEC play, traveling to Tennessee and Georgia.

The Wildcats (3-7-2, 1-2-1) enter the weekend on a two-match losing streak, including a heartbreaking 3-2, double-overtime loss to 13th ranked Florida on Sunday. UK grabbed a 2-0 first-half lead, but was unable to hold on. The Gators scored two goals in a span of just over a minute in the second half to force overtime. UF netted the golden goal early in the second overtime to seal the victory.

The Lady Vols (5-7-0, 2-2-0) enter the weekend on a two game winning streak, picking up wins last weekend against LSU and Arkansas, outscoring both 4-1. Tennessee is led by Kylee Rossi whose 17 points (eight goals, one assist) rank first in the league. Jamiel Johnson leads the Lady Vols in the net with a 1.36 goals against average (GAA) and three shutouts.

The Wildcats trail in the all-time series with Tennessee, 7-9-0, including a 1-0 loss in last season’s lone meeting. The two have split the six meetings in Knoxville, with Kentucky winning the last time they traveled to Tennessee, 1-0 in the 2006 season.

Following the Friday night match-up with Tennessee, the Wildcats travel further south to Athens for a Sunday date with Georgia. The Bulldogs own an 8-4-2 record against UK and have not lost to Kentucky since the 1999 season. Despite the lopsided record, the two teams have always played close matches. In the 14 meetings, seven have been decided by one goal, one finished in a tie, while another match had to be decided by penalty kicks.

The Bulldogs enter the weekend off a split last week, defeating Arkansas 2-1 in overtime, before dropping a Sunday match against LSU.

Georgia is led offensively by Carrie Patterson, whose 13 points (five goals, three assists) is tied for eighth in the league.

The Wildcats have posted stronger offensive numbers of late, scoring 10 goals in their last six matches, compared to three in their first six matches. Kentucky has also tallied 110 shots to 51 in that same time frame, including 42 shots on goal to 23.

The Wildcats and the Lady Vols are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff Friday night, while the Cats and Dawgs will get under way at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Fans can follow all the action on www.ukathletics.com.
