Lexington, Ky. – The Kentucky football team improved on Wednesday following a lackluster performance Tuesday afternoon, Coach Rich Brooks reported following Wednesday’s workout at the Nutter Training Center.
“That’s football,” Brooks said regarding the hard work of preseason practice. “The question is, do you feel sorry for yourself or do you push yourself through it? Yesterday we felt sorry for ourselves. Today it looked like we pushed ourselves through it.”
The coach also reported that tailback Derrick Locke and tight end Ross Bogue returned to practice after sitting out the last few days because of injury.
“We have a lot of guys who are a little beat up, a little leg weary, a little sore,” Brooks said. “Tomorrow’s our last two-a-day and then we’ll start backing off a little bit. Hopefully we’ll start getting some guys back out there and fresher, too.”
The Wildcats have a pair of practices slated for Thursday, the last day of double practice. Kentucky is preparing for the season opener Aug. 31 at Louisville.
