LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky fans are invited to be on this year’s 2008-09 women’s basketball poster during a photo shoot set for Monday, Aug. 25 in Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET. The event is free of charge and fans are encouraged to wear Blue or dress in game day attire. A limited number of t-shirts also will be given away to lucky fans.

The 2008-09 UK Hoops marketing campaign is “I’m a UK Hoops fan. What about you?” Marketing director Nathan Schwake and his team came up with the idea of having the women’s basketball players and coaches surrounded by their loyal fans on the Coliseum floor for the poster.

“We believe we have the best fans in the country and we want them to be a part of our marketing campaign this year,” Schwake said. “Our idea is to have as many Wildcat fans as we can to stand on the Coliseum floor behind our team, wearing their Blue and White and showing their support.”

The main front doors of Memorial Coliseum (Euclid Avenue entrance) open at 6:30 p.m. ET. Parking is available in the E lots surrounding the Coliseum including the Martin Luther King Parking Lot and the Student Center Parking Lot. Parking will not be available in any R lots surrounding the Coliseum. Cars parked in those lots will be subject to ticket or tow.

The photo shoot is set to last approximately 30 minutes.

“We invite all Wildcat fans as well as their friends and families to come join us Monday night,” UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell said. “This is the first time we’ve done something like this and we are excited about our great fans being involved in our marketing campaign this year.”
