LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky sluggers Sawyer Carroll and Collin Cowgill have been named to the listing of 64 players on the Brooks Wallace National Player of the Year Watch List, the College Baseball Foundation announced.

The outfield duo have posted one of the more prolific offensive campaigns in UK?s 104-year history, ranking among the NCAA and Southeastern Conference leaders in nearly every category. Carroll leads the SEC with a .416 average and 78 RBI, with his RBI total ranking as a new UK school record. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-fielder has swatted 21 doubles, three triples and 16 home runs, swiping 12-of-12 bases.

Cowgill, junior from Lexington, leads the team with 18 home runs, adding a .359 average to complement 13 doubles, two triples and 57 RBI, ranking fourth in the SEC in stolen bases, stealing 23-of-27 bags. On Tuesday, Cowgill was named a first-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

The two were named All-Americans earlier in the week, with Carroll notching first-team All-America honors and Cowgill second-team accolades from Collegiate Baseball. It marks the first time in school history that the Wildcats have had a first-team All-American in three consecutive years (2006 ? Ryan Strieby; 2007 ? Sean Coughlin).

Cowgill and Carroll have also been named two of 16 finalists for the Dick Howser Trophy, as well as being tabbed on the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Player of the Year listing.

No. 24 Kentucky resumes first-round play in the NCAA Tournament in Ann Arbor at 11 a.m. ET. UK?s game on Friday with No. 13 Michigan was suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning due to weather, with UM leading 5-1, with two out and runners on first and second and a 3-1 count on third baseman Adam Abraham.
