LOUDON, Tenn. ? Junior Mallory Blackwelder carded a four-over-par to lead all Kentucky women?s golfers Saturday at the SEC Championships hosted by the University of Tennessee.

Blackwelder struggled in the opening 18 holes carding a score of 84, but she turned it around today bettering her score by eight-strokes. The junior also climbs to a tie for 35th on the individual leaderboard to pace the Wildcats.

Kentucky as a team bettered its score by seven shots and tallied a 319 in the second round. The Wildcats sit in 12th place and trail Ole Miss by eight strokes. Florida leads the field with a 293 in today?s round, five shots better than Arkansas. The Razorbacks? Stacy Lewis leads the individual field with a two-under-par overall score.

Blackwelder was not the only Wildcat to improve in the second round. First time SEC participants?, freshman sophomore Kristin Vincent and freshman Louise Ljungstedt carded rounds of 78 and 80, respectively. Ljungstedt is 52nd overall among the field, while Vincent remains in a tie for 53rd. Senior Beth Felts is tied with her teammate for 53rd overall after a second round 88. Sophomore Erica Still, yesterday?s individual leader for the Blue and White, is tied for 47th overall after a 13-over-par in round two.
