LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Kentucky softball team returns to the field this weekend as they play host to Arkansas in a three-game Southeastern Conference series at the UK Softball Complex.

The Wildcats are coming off a doubleheader loss to No. 12 LSU Wednesday, despite two-run home runs from the bats of both Molly Johnson and Meagan Aull.

Sophomore Amber Matousek took the loss in the circle in the first game, but did achieve a remarkable achievement in the defeat. Matousek?s two strikeouts in the game gave her sole possession of third place on UK?s all-time top-10 list for strikeouts in a career in just her second season. Matousek has now fanned 138 career batters, including 95 this season.

Johnson?s two-RBI day allowed her to crack the record books with 66 career runs batted in. She is also among the charts with 25 career doubles and 13 career bombs. Senior Audrey Meyer?s walk in the LSU series gave her 40 for her career, and also a spot in the UK all-time records.

Kentucky is looking for its second series victory, after claiming its first series in Oxford, Miss., last week at the hands of Ole Miss. Kentucky has not won two conference series since 2002, when they defeated both Arkansas and Mississippi State in two out of the three games.

The Lady Razorbacks have compiled a 29-18 overall record, but have struggled in conference action going 2-12. Arkansas played a doubleheader out of conference and fell to Oklahoma in both games earlier this week in their only game action.

The Arkansas and Kentucky softball series has met 30 times, with the Lady Razorbacks holding a 20-10 edge, including a three-game sweep last season. The 10 UK victories are most against any SEC opponent in the history of the school.

First pitch will be thrown at 1 p.m. both days. Live stats and complete coverage of the games this weekend can be found at www.ukathletics.com.
