Men's Golf

The Kentucky men?s golf team finished the day in 13th place at the fourth annual Hootie at Bulls Bay Invitational today, Mar. 24, in Awendaw, S.C. The Cats fired a second-round score of 301 to bring their two-day total to 595 (294-301).

South Carolina leads the 15-team field with a score of 566 (280-286). North Carolina State?s Matt Hill leads the individual standings with a two-day score of 138 (71-67) to stand at four-under par after two rounds of play.

Junior Andy Winings leads the Wildcats after the second day and shot a one-under par 70 to bring his two-day total to 145 (75-70). Three birdies helped the Brownsburg, Ind. Junior drop five strokes from his opening round. He is tied for the 23rd spot.

Senior Brad Doster (Winter Park, Fla.) also had a solid second round, carding a three-over par 74. Doster recorded two birdies on the front nine and one on the back to bring his two-round total score to 151 (77-74).

Junior Ben Fuqua (Danville, Ky.) fired a second-round 77 (+6) to put him in the 37th spot heading into the final round tomorrow, while senior Cale Barr (Versailles, Ky.) shot a 76 on Monday to bring his total score to 150 (74-76), he is currently tied for the 55th spot. Sophomore Brian Belden (Emmaus, Pa.) rounds out the scoring for UK with a second-day score of 78 to give him a total of 155 (77-78) which ranks him 69th overall.
