SHREVEPORT, La. ? The University of Kentucky gymnastics team finished the weekend at Centenary College in Shreveport, La. UK had participated in a quad meet Friday March 14 in Denton, Texas at Texas Woman?s University which also included Centenary. The Cat?s continued their win streak Sunday with a seventh consecutive win and season high against Centenary, 195.975-192.275.

Kentucky started out strong with two career high scores on the uneven bars. Freshman Andrea Mitchell began the day by hitting at 9.875 followed by sophomore Emily Green?s 9.850. Mitchell?s career high total earned the rookie her second career title and first title for the uneven bars. UK closed the first rotation with a 9.800 hit by Jacque Behrendt, a career high for the sophomore. The team?s total of 49.100 on bars is their highest this season and ranks among the top-10 school records for the uneven bars.

The Wildcats hit another team season high on vault with a 49.125. Sophomore Hillary Ferguson and Green each nailed 9.9?s, tying for the event?s title. Sophomore Emilie Rymer brought in a new career high with a 9.850.

Despite a few rough edges on floor, UK pulled together and showed off solid routines. Kentucky was led by freshman Madison Snowden, tying her career high of 9.875, also earning her the first title of her career. Rymer and junior Heather Hite hit the next highest scores for the Cats with 9.775 and 9.750, respectively.

Hite brought in the title on beam with a 9.925, increasing her total titles to 18 and 10 just on beam. Rymer and Ferguson followed Hite in the team?s top three scores. Rymer earned a 9.85 and Ferguson took a 9.75 for the event.

The all-around title was taken by Rymer of Kentucky with a 39.300, a season high. Green took second place with a 39.175 and Ferguson held third with 39.075. UK walked away with all five titles of the event.

?I?m extremely proud of them, they were warriors,? Head Coach Mo Mitchell said. ?Having four meets in eight days is big, and they finished their last meet as their strongest.?

The Wildcats? next meet will take place on Saturday, March 22 at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Saturday?s meet is slated for 2 p.m. ET and will conclude the 2008 regular season for Kentucky gymnastics.
