ORLANDO, Fla. — Senior Kentucky golfer Brad Doster (Winter Park, Fla.) carded a team-best 70 Tuesday on the final day of the Rio Pinar Invitational, as the Wildcats finished the three-day tournament in 10th place. The No. 29 Wildcats tallied a three-round total of 875 (293-286-296) for the event, hosted by the University of Central Florida at the 7,003-yard par-72 Rio Pinar Country Club.

Host UCF claimed the tournament crown after shooting an 18-under-par 846 (287-274-285) over the three-day tournament. Kentucky was one of 14 teams in the 18-team Rio Pinar Invitational that was ranked in the top-85, including No. 18 Ole Miss.

?I was somewhat disappointed with our performance this week, especially with how well we played in our first spring event,? UK head coach Brian Craig said. ?We are looking forward to getting back to practice and working on the things that are going to make us successful. I know we are capable of bouncing back and playing our best golf in Puerto Rico, to keep us on track for the postseason.?

Doster finished in a tie for 21st place with a 217 (75-72-70) to lead the Wildcats, while senior Cale Barr (Versailles, Ky.) finished tied for 27th place and shot the lowest round of the tournament for the Wildcats after firing a 3-under-par 69 on Monday. Barr shot a final score 218 (73-69-76) and junior Andy Winings (Brownsburg, Ind.) concluded tournament play in a tie for 37th place with 220 (72-71-77).

Sophomore Brian Belden (Emmaus, Pa.) finished in a tie for 51st place with a 221 (73-74-74), and freshman James Kania (Haverford, Pa.) concluded play in a tie for 77th place with a 229 (79-74-76) to round out the tournament field for the Wildcats after leading the Cats in their win two weeks ago in the Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah.

Kentucky returns to action March 9-10, when it travels to Huarenco, Puerto Rico, to compete in the Palmas De Mar Intercollegiate. Live stats will be available at golfstat.com, while complete results and a recap will be available on ukathletics.com following each day of competition.
