LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The No. 22 Kentucky women?s tennis team (7-2 overall, 0-0 SEC) will have an action packed weekend facing Kansas (2-3, 0-0) on Saturday Feb. 23 and No. 30 South Florida (7-3, 0-1) on Sunday Feb. 24 at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex in Lexington, Ky. The matches are both scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET.
Kentucky has an all-time record of 1-1 against the Jayhawks. The teams last met in 1989 with Kansas taking the win, 5-2. KU most recently swept University of Missouri-Kansas City, 7-0. Lexington will be the first stop for the Jayhawks in a stretch of four road matches.
The Wildcats will remain at home for their match against the South Florida Bulls on Sunday. UKis 3-1 all-time against USF and during their last encounter the Cats outdid the Bulls, 5-2. South Florida is 7-3 overall this season and looking to bounce back from a loss to Notre Dame, 6-1.
UK last faced No. 18 Clemson, causing an upset of the Tigers, 5-2. However, the next day the Cats faced No. 1 Georgia Tech for a difficult attempt at another upset. The Wildcats managed one point, scored by No. 95 freshman Megan Broderick, against the top-ranked Yellow Jackets.
