TUSCALOOSA, Ala.? Freshman Stephen Andrews secured his first career medal at the SEC Championships when he broke his own school record in taking third on the 10-meter platform diving event during night three of the SEC Championships hosted by the University of Alabama.
Andrews posted a 397.30 score with six dives on the platform event to take bronze in his first career conference meet. Earlier today he had set the UK record, but tonight he bested his own mark by nearly 30 points to lead the Wildcats.
Senior Will Vietti notched his second consecutive silver medal in the 100-breast with a time of 53.76, just shades off of his own UK record pace he set a season ago. Vietti?s time tonight is a season best and is good enough to qualify as an NCAA ?B? standard.

Junior Warren Grobbelaar was just off of his UK record setting pace in the 100-fly in which he set earlier today. Grobbelaar earned seventh in the event with a time of 47.28.
Freshman Lindsey Graessle got in on the scoring action with a 13th place finish in the 100-breast. Graessle placed with a 1:04.21 time in tonight?s consolation heat.

In the relays, Kentucky?s women finished fourth overall earning an NCAA ?B? qualifying standard. The senior quartet of Jill Southerlan, Lindsay Myhre and Heather and Jenny Bradford touched in a time of 3:42.86 for fourth place. Auburn took first with Florida in second and Georgia third.
On the men?s side, the Blue and White also earned an NCAA ?B? qualifying time. Eliason, Vietti, Grobbelaar and sophomore Eric McGinnis teamed for a 3:14.20 finish. Auburn, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia edged the Wildcats.
After three nights of competition the UK men and women have retained their holds on sixth and fifth, respectively. Kentucky?s men have scored 256 points, while the women have notched 238 points. Auburn leads both sides of competition with the men handedly winning with 597 points. Auburn?s women have a narrow lead over Florida after scoring 492 points.
