LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Kentucky men?s tennis team started its three-match weekend impressively defeating Butler and DePaul Saturday at Boone Tennis Complex. But the undefeated Cats can?t rest on their laurels because a high-noon duel with No. 36 Miami looms on Super Bowl Sunday. Admission is free for all matches.

The Cats enter the match-up 4-0 after sweeping their matches today. The Blue and White were led by senior captain Marcus Sundh who swept both of his singles matches for the second straight week. But it wasn?t easy in his first match, down 4-1 in the second set to Butler?s Eric Breitenbach Sundh rattled off five straight games to win the match at 6-4.

Senior Will Ward won both of his singles matches on the day only surrendering five games total. Ward teamed with Sundh at No. 1 doubles to win against DePaul?s top tandem 8-6.

Freshman Alberto Gonzalez kept his exciting three-set match streak alive in the morning and remained undefeated with his third extra-set victory at No. 3 singles. After winning the first set 6-4, Gonzalez and Butler?s Chris Herron were knotted up at 6-6 before the Bulldog took the tie break. The first-year Cat fell behind 3-1 in third set, but came back to tie Herron at 4-all before winning the final two games to secure the win. Gonzalez had an easier time against DePaul?s Vanja Grgec winning 6-1, 6-1 in the night cap.

In the afternoon match, No. 31 Bruno Agostinelli saw his first action of the year at No.1 singles against DePaul?s Austin Doerner. In a hard-fought first set, the UK junior clinched in a tie break at 7-4. However, the second set would not be completed with Agostinelli leading 4-2 after DePaul head coach Matt Brothers removed Doerner from the match; challenging the official and complaining about the crowd inside the Boone Tennis Center.

Sunday former Kentucky tennis player Marc Rincon returns to Lexington as head coach of the Miami Hurricanes. Rincon played for UK head coach Dennis Emery in the 1988-89 seasons and is in his fourth year at the helm of the Hurricane squad. The former Cat won the ACC Coach of the Year Award in 2006 for his quick turn-around of the program.

The ?Canes are fresh off of an upset 4-3 win over No. 13 Florida on Tuesday to go 3-0 on the year. The Hurricanes? No.7 Daniel Vallverdu defeated the Gators? No.8 Greg Ouellette in straight sets for a key win in No. 1 singles play. Miami later clinched at No. 6 singles after the match was knotted at three points apiece.
