LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Junior Kentucky middle blocker Queen Nzenwa (Baltimore, Md.) concluded the 2007 regular season ranked seventh in the NCAA in blocks per game, according to the latest NCAA statistics released late Wednesday evening.

Nzenwa, who has led the Southeastern Conference in blocks per game and hitting percentage for most of the season, is averaging 1.63 blocks per game through 31 matches this year. Nzenwa holds UK?s career and single-season block assists records.

She also ranks 29th in the nation in hitting percentage with a .370 clip. Her .370 hitting efficiency this season currently ranks fourth all-time on Kentucky?s single-season list. Last season, Nzenwa finished the year with a .341 hitting percentage, good for sixth all-time. For her career, Nzenwa currently has a .333 hitting percentage, which ranks third all-time in school annals.


NCAA Selection Show Set for Sunday Evening

The 2007 NCAA Volleyball Selection Show is set for Sunday evening at 8 p.m. EST on ESPNU. The Wildcats are looking to make their school-record third NCAA Tournament appearance, having made back-to-back trips to the ?Big Dance? for the first time since the 1992-93 campaigns.

With the first weekend of conference tournaments concluded, 20 teams have already punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament via claiming their league?s tournament title. Those teams are listed below. Cleveland State, against which Kentucky posted a victory to claim the Kentucky Classic title on Sept. 1, is an automatic qualifier, having captured the Horizon League Championship.
