Sophomore linebacker Mikhail Mabry sustained a broken thumb in practice on Thursday and will be out indefinitely, Coach Rich Brooks announced.
Mabry incurred the injury during a routine drill when his thumb jammed on another player?s knee, Brooks said. Mabry will undergo surgery on Friday.
Mabry was working with the second team at middle linebacker. The 6-2, 235-pound sophomore from Mililani, Hawaii, is coming off a redshirt season. He saw action in seven games in 2005 as a true freshman and made five tackles.

Fans Encouraged to Attend the ?Cat Walk?; Listen for the Siren: Fans are encouraged to cheer the Wildcats when the players arrive at Commonwealth Stadium for the ?Cat Walk.?
Fans should go to the Cat Walk area two hours and 15 minutes before the game (for example, 3:45 p.m. for the Eastern Kentucky game). The team buses stop in front of the Nutter Field House and the players walk to their stadium entry point at Gate 1. The fans line up on the sidewalk and cheer the players as they enter the stadium.
A siren will be sounded while the team buses are on their way to the stadium. That?s the fans? cue to go to the Cat Walk area.
C-A-T-S Cheer on Kickoffs: Another way for the fans to encourage the Wildcats is a cheer being introduced this season on kickoffs. The cheer will occur on either team?s kickoffs, regardless of whether UK is kicking or receiving. Cheerleader Coach Jomo Thompson explains it this way:
?As the ball is placed on the tee and the referee blows his whistle and puts his hand in the air, the fans begin a long ?AAAAAAHHHHHH!? until the ball is kicked. As the ball is in the air, the fans yell ?C-A-T-S, CATS, CATS, CATS!??
Kentucky Football Ticket Sales Continue to Surge: The excitement over the 2007 Kentucky football team continues to spark ticket sales, as more than 51,000 season tickets have been issued. For the general public, less than 100 sideline season tickets remain at a cost of $248 each. Among end zone season tickets ($199 each), only scattered single seats remain.
The 51,000 number includes 5,115 season tickets purchased by students, shattering the old student record of 3,549 set in 2005. That number continues to grow as the student season tickets sell at a brisk pace this week.
