OTTAWA, Ontario ? The Kentucky men?s soccer program is sending a player to a second straight FIFA U-20 World Cup as Michael D?Agostino was named to the Canadian team roster, it was announced by the Canadian Soccer Association on Thursday.

D?Agostino left UK after completing his junior season in 2006, when he was named first-team All-Conference USA and NSCAA first-team All-Midwest Region. He was one of only a handful of C-USA players to tally at least six goals and six assists.

From his midfield position, D?Agostino led the Wildcats to a stellar 14-5-2 record, the second most wins in school history, and a runner-up finish in both the conference regular season and conference tournament.

Since leaving UK, D?Agostino has spent time training in England as well as with the Canadian squad. He has earned caps earlier this spring in friendlies against the United States as well as Scotland.

Two years ago, then-Kentucky star Riley O?Neill became the first Wildcat to earn a spot in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the second largest FIFA-sponsored tournament in the world behind only the FIFA World Cup. He competed with Canada in Holland.

This year, Canada hosts the event with the tournament kicking off on July 1 in Toronto.
