ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. ? Kentucky senior Cale Barr (Versailles, Ky.) recorded a three-round total of 223 (78-72-73), his best mark in more than two years, to lead the Wildcats as they finished in 11th place at the Southeastern Conference Championships, played for the seventh consecutive season at the Sea Island Golf Club.

The Wildcats recorded a three-round team total of 901 (312-293-296) to conclude the event, which featured eight teams in the Golfweek top 25, including four top 20 squads.

No. 16 Tennessee captured the team title ? its first in 17 years, by holding off third-ranked Alabama by wo strokes in the final round of competition on Sunday. The title was the third for the Volunteers in their program history. The Vols concluded play with a 29-over-par 869 (301-283-285). Auburn?s Patton Kizzire claimed the individual crown with a 1-over-par 211 (72-69-70).

?We are a little disappointed with our performance this weekend,? UK head coach Brian Craig said. ?But I love this group of guys and I am really looking forward to next season. We are looking forward to getting back on the course and regrouping. I know we will be a much improved team next year.?

Barr, who posted his two lowest rounds of the season on the final two days of the SEC Championships, recorded the fourth-best three-round total of his career to finish in a tie for 31st place overall. The previous three lower marks came during his sophomore campaign of 2004-05.

Sophomore Andy Winings (Brownsburg, Ind.) finished in a tie for 33rd place by carding a three-round total of 224 (78-74-72), while senior Brad Doster (Winter Park, Fla.) tied for 40th place with a 228 (80-71-77).

Freshman Alex Volpenhein (Edgewood, Ky.) and senior Tyler Wilson (Lexington, Ky.) each finished in a tie for 51st place with three-round marks of 232 on the weekend to round out the scoring for the Wildcats.
