LEXINGTON, Ky.?Junior Marcus Sundh scored an upset in singles and doubles, but No. 22 Tennessee pulled away with a 6-1, win at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex on a sunny, but windy afternoon.

Sundh prevailed in straight-sets to beat No. 120 Davey Sandgren at No. 3 singles to score Kentucky?s lone point. Sundh used a 6-2, 6-3 throttling of the Volunteer for his sixth win in his last seven matches. Sundh also paired with senior Peter Bjork to defeat the No. 55 doubles tandem of Adam Hubble and Ben Rogers at No. 1 doubles, with an 8-6 score.

Kentucky falls to 12-10, 2-6 with the loss, while Tennessee improves to 14-4, and 6-2 in conference action.

Bjork went toe-to-toe with No. 29 Bobby Cameron forcing a three-set tie-breaker. Cameron jumped out front with an opening 6-4 set win. Bjork fired back with a dominating 6-2 win in the second set to force the third set. Cameron prevailed with a thrilling 10-6 third set, that saw both crowds rallying behind their player.

Sophomore Bruno Agostinelli faced a similar situation with No. 36 Kaden Hensel at No. 1 singles. Agostinelli opened with a 7-6 (8-6) win, and then Hensel followed with a 6-3 win of his own. Agostinelli and Hensel continued to battle in the third set, but Hensel broke free with a 10-7 win to clinch the point.

Tennessee opened to a 3-0 lead after taking the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The visitors then took matches at No. 4 and No. 5, before Sundh?s win at No. 3 brought the score to 3-1. The match was clinched at the No. 6 position.

Kentucky returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to No. 5 Illinois. UK will have its final home match of the season on Friday, April 6 when they host South Carolina.
