Men's Golf

The Kentucky men?s golf team posted a team score of 301 today, Mar. 25, in the opening round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Invitational to stand at 14th in the team standings. Central Florida leads the field with in Awendaw, S.C., with a team total of 270 after one round of play.

UCF?s Preston Brown and Greg Forest each shot a five-under 66 in the opening round to tie for the first in the individual standings.

Sophomore Andy Winings leads the Wildcats after recording four birdies on the day. Winings finished even par with a score of 71 and is tied for 19th overall. Junior Brad Doster is tied for 53rd in the standings after recording three birdies to finish at four-over par 75. Ben Fuqua is 62nd with a score of 77, followed by Cale Barr who is one stroke back at 78 and tied for 68th. Freshman Alex Volpenhein rounds out the scoring for UK with an eight-over par 79.

The three-day tournament continues with the second round on Monday, Mar. 26, at Bulls Bay Golf Club.
