LEXINGTON, Ky.? The 53rd-ranked University of Kentucky men?s tennis team will host Indiana State and Murray State on Sunday in a doubleheader at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
UK (8-6, 2-2) is in the middle of a conference bye week and will entertain two non-conference opponents beginning with Indiana State at 1 p.m. EDT followed by Murray State at 5 p.m.
Kentucky is coming off consecutive weekends of splits with conference foes. A week ago, Kentucky fell to No. 15 LSU and then blew past Arkansas to even their SEC record at .500.
Senior Peter Bjork and junior Will Ward remain a talked-about duo as the transfer tandem holds a perfect 8-0 mark in doubles action. The duo topped LSU?s No. 5 pair of James Cluskey and Ken Skupski and then handedly beat Arkansas? No. 2 team for a perfect weekend. Their unblemished mark leads Kentucky?s doubles teams in the heart of the lineup.
Bjork and junior Marcus Sundh lead the Blue and White with a 10-3 dual match singles records. Sophomore Bruno Agostinelli cradles the No. 68 singles ranking in the country playing primarily for Coach Dennis Emery at No. 1 singles.
Kentucky will host a winless Murray State team in the nightcap, and will begin with Indiana State which holds a 4-4 record.
