HONOLULU ? The 17th-ranked Kentucky women?s tennis team puts its six-match win streak on the line Friday when it faces Hawaii at 10 p.m. EDT.

At 12-1 on the year, UK is off to the program?s best start in the last 20 years and are riding its longest win streak since a school-record 16-game run in 2005. The Wildcats current run includes a perfect 4-0 start in Southeastern Conference play.

Last time out this past Sunday, Kentucky blazed past No. 54 Arkansas, 4-1. That victory came on the heels of a hard-fought 4-3 win over No. 32 LSU.

The Wildcats have had three virtually automatic points this year, as they?ve won doubles in 11 of 13 matches while senior Joelle Schwenk and sophomore Sarah Woestmann are each 12-1 in dual play. Sophomore Carolina Escamilla stepped up on Sunday for the clinching point with an easy straight-set victory at No. 4. Two days earlier, it was sophomore Jessica Giuggioli who came through, rallying from a set down on court six to lift UK to its win over the Lady Tigers.

Hawaii is 3-9 so far this season and is coming off losses to No. 10 North Carolina and No. 37 Purdue last weekend.

The Wildcats have been in the island paradise since Monday, using Kentucky?s spring break week to make the trek. The match is the final non-conference tilt for UK until April 11.
