A pair of University of Kentucky softball players were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts over the weekend at the Getterman Classic in Waco, Texas. Seniors Katie Campbell and Brooke Marnitz earned All-Tournament honors after both posted impressive numbers during the Wildcats? five games.

Campbell opened the season on a tear, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI in the season opener against Stephen F. Austin. She also tied the Kentucky all-time record with her 19th career home run in that game. Campbell followed that by going 2-for-3 with two doubles in the win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She added her team-leading third double of the season against Southern Miss. Campbell is now batting .500 (7-for-14) on the year with three doubles, a home run and five RBI.

Marnitz opened the season, going 9-for-9 through her first three games to set a new NCAA mark for hits in consecutive at-bats with 12, dating back to the final two games of the 2006 season. Marnitz leads the Wildcats with a .643 (9-for-14) batting average and nine RBI. She drove in a Kentucky-record six RBI in the win over Southern Miss when she went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run. Marnitz homered twice during the tournament, giving her 12 for her career which ranks her fifth all-time at Kentucky.

Campbell and Marnitz are joined on the All-Tournament team by Baylor?s Alex Colyer, Lisa Ferguson, Chelsi Lake, Ashley Monceaux, Kelsey Sage, Kristen Shortridge, Nicole Wesley and Tiffany Wesley. Erica Armenta (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), Logan James (Southern Miss) and Jessica Tullos (Stephen. F. Austin) also earned All-Tournament team honors.
