LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball team has been picked to finish third in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division and Sean Coughlin, Collin Cowgill, and Antone DeJesus were named to the preseason All-SEC team, SEBaseball.com announced Monday.

Coughlin was tabbed a first-team catcher while Cowgill and DeJesus were named to the second-team. Coughlin is UK?s returning home run leader after he blasted 17 home runs and drove in 55 runs during the 2006 season. Cowgill and DeJesus combine to form one of the more formidable defensive duos in any college baseball outfield, as Cowgill was recently named the best outfield arm and DeJesus was named best defensive outfielder in the SEC by Baseball America.

Kentucky enters the 2007 campaign with the most momentum in school history, having just won the SEC Championship, hosted an NCAA Regional, and won a school-record 44 games in 2006.

UK will kick off its 2007 season with a three-game road series (Feb. 16-18) against Furman in Greenville, S.C. Kentucky will open the home portion of its schedule with a Feb. 21 matchup with Murray State.
