LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Kentucky sprinters will hold their annual Fall Intra-Squad preview at Nutter Field House this Friday and Saturday in preparation for the upcoming indoor season, which begins in January. Fans are encouraged to come out and catch an early glimpse of the Kentucky sprinters prior to the season.
Activities on Friday begin at approximately 4:25 p.m. ET with the men?s 60-meter high hurdles, three heats of the 60 meters and three heats of the 300 meters. Friday?s activities will conclude around 5:35 p.m. ET.
On Saturday, the men will have the 150 meter dash at 3:30 p.m. ET, the women will compete in the 400 meters at 3:35 p.m. ET with the men?s 4×400 meter relay team beginning at 3:40 p.m. ET.
?This event is just to give the kids a nice competition before Christmas break that will motivate them to prepare and come back with some fire, ready to begin the season,? said Erin Tucker, assistant coach for sprints. ?Some of these people haven?t competed since last June. Having something to show them that all this hard work means something will really help them leading up to our first meet.?
Kentucky begins its 2007 Track and Field slate when it plays host to the annual Kentucky Invitational Jan. 12-13 in the Nutter Field House.
