LEXINGTON, Ky.?University of Kentucky men?s tennis coach Dennis Emery announced the signing of Will Beck (Potomac, Md.) to a National Letter of Intent, Thursday.

Beck is a senior at the Bullis School in Maryland. He finished his junior season as one of the top 50 players in the country in singles. He currently ranks fourth in the Boys 18?s for the Mid-Atlantic area. While at Bullis he has played No. 1 singles for one of the nation?s top programs under Coach Jack Schore.

The future Wildcat has been named an All-Interstate Athletic Conference player for three seasons. He was also named to the Washington Post All-Met team both his sophomore and junior seasons. Beck additionally has been a part of two undefeated seasons and two IAC Championship squads.

?Will is a great recruit for our program,? said Emery. ?He is a true student-athlete. He is a multi-dimensional recruit who will excel in both singles and doubles. The coaching staff and I believe his best tennis is still in front of him. He has a big body and great hands, and we anticipate him contributing immediately to our program.?

Beck will join the team in the fall of 2007. Kentucky will only lose one player to graduation at the end of the 2006-07 season in Peter Bjork.
