LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Jamie Braun scored a game-high 18 points to lead Indiana to a 54-51 upset over the No. 15 University of Kentucky in the championship game of the four-team Women’s Sports Foundation Tournament on Sunday.

Braun, who had eight first-half points, scored the Hoosiers’ final seven points and added nine rebounds.

With the game tied 47-47, Braun hit consecutive 3-pointers putting the Hoosiers ahead for good. IU’s Carrie Smith, who finished with 10 points and six rebounds, left the game with less than nine minutes remaining after banging her left knee and didn’t return.

It was IU’s (2-0) sixth straight victory against UK (1-1), which opened the season ranked in the preseason poll for the first time in school history.

Carly Ormerod led the Wildcats with 14 points and scored the team’s last two points when she made two free throws with 27.3 seconds remaining.

Jennifer Humphrey added 12 rebounds and Sarah Elliott had 13 rebounds for UK, which led by as many as 13 points in the first half.

The Wildcats were down by as many as five in the second half and tied the game 47-47 when Sam Mahoney made two free throws.

The Wildcats made just three of their first 25 field goals in the second half. Kentucky shot just 14.7 percent while missing all eight of its 3-pointers in the second half and shot 24.6 percent for the game.

The Hoosiers erased a 32-26 halftime deficit with consecutive 3-pointers from Smith and Kim Roberson tying things up 32-32 in the opening minutes of the second half.

Wake Forest (1-1) beat Washington State (0-2), 45-37 in the consolation game.
