ORANGE BEACH, AL ? The Kentucky women?s soccer team placed four student-athletes on ESPN The Magazine?s Academic All-District teams as announced by CoSIDA earlier today.

Junior Kelsey Fenix led the way being named to the District IV first team making her eligible for Academic All-America consideration. Fenix currently has a 3.90 in Exercise Science/Pre-Med. This season she has tallied five points on a goal and three assists. She is a two-time first team selection having earned the honor last season as well.

Senior Anne Ogundele was a District IV second team selection, posting a 3.61 GPA while majoring in Physical Therapy. Ogundele has posted a league high 13 shutouts this season breaking the single-season school record and also possesses the best GAA in the conference with a 0.55 mark. This is Ogundele?s first Academic All-District honor.

Juniors Sarah Gaunt and Megan Jones appear on the third team. Gaunt, who has six points on three goals this season, has a 3.56 GPA in Business Management while Jones, who is second on the team with 13 points (4g, 5a), has a 3.27 GPA in Accounting. Sarah Gaunt is making her second straight appearance as a third-team academic all-district performer.

The Wildcats will take on the third-seeded Tennessee Lady Volunteers on Friday in the semifinals of the 2006 SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Kentucky won the earlier meeting this season, a 1-0 victory in Knoxville on October 13. The Wildcats earned a spot in the semifinals with a 3-2 victory over Ole Miss, while Tennessee advanced with a 5-2 victory over the Auburn Tigers.

The two schools have met three times before in the SEC Tournament with the Lady Vols owning a 2-1 advantage. The last time they met in postseason competition ended in a 2-0 Tennessee victory in the 2004 conference tournament.
