LEXINGTON, Ky.? The University of Kentucky men?s tennis team will host the Wilson ITA Southeast Regional Tournament beginning Friday at 8 a.m. Singles action will begin with a qualifying draw Friday morning at the UK Boone Tennis Center and the Gold?s Gym. The main draw of competition is slated to begin around noon on Friday at Boone and the Lexington Tennis Club. The Boone Tennis Center and the Lexington Club will host singles and doubles action on Saturday, while action on Sunday and Monday will exclusively be held at Boone.

Kentucky will host 24 teams and 128 players this weekend. Of those players, 21 are among the nation?s top 118 singles players. Nine of the top 60 doubles teams will also be in action in Lexington this weekend.
The Wildcats enter the weekend?s play with two players ranked in the top-110. Sophomore Bruno Agostinelli entered the pre-season with a No. 59 ranking and senior-transfer Peter Bjork holds the No. 107 spot.
This weekend marks the first home competition of the year for the Wildcats, and they welcome a few new faces to the courts. Bjork and junior-transfer Will Ward will play their first matches as Wildcats in Lexington. Freshman Brian Dredge will appear in his first collegiate match before his home crowd.
Junior Marcus Sundh will make his first appearance of the fall season. Sundh tied for the team-lead in singles win last season with 29 victories.
Admission to this weekend?s matches will be free. Fans are encouraged to use the parking structure adjacent to the Boone Tennis Stadium.
