LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Junior Beth Felts has been named the women?s golfer of the week for the second consecutive week dating Sept. 27-Oct. 4, by the Kentucky coaching staff.
In the Wildcats? only home event of the year, Felts earned her best finish of the season with a tie for 21st place. The junior carded a 22-over-par 238 for the tournament. On day one, the tournament field faced gusty winds, rain and brisk temperatures while playing 36 holes.
Felts used a stellar 76 in round three to claw her way back into the top 25 of the tournament field. ?I am excited that Beth was able to battle the tough conditions the first day, and then come back with a solid final round,? said Coach Stephanie Barker.
Felts and the Wildcats are off until Oct. 31-Nov. 1 when they will travel to Southern Pines, N.C.,for the Ross Resorts Invitational.
