IRVINE, Calif.?Former Kentucky swimmer Daniel Farnham, just a day after his successful run in the 50-meter freestyle, missed the cut in the preliminary round of the 2006 ConocoPhillips National Championship in the 100-free, Friday in Irvine, Calif.

Farnham placed in a tie for 39th after clocking a 51.66 time in the 100-free. The Rome, Ga. native held fourth place in his heat after 50-meters, but finished eighth. Eighty-eight swimmers competed in the event comprising of 12 heats.

Cullen Jones once again nabbed the top time of the preliminary round registering a time of 49.17, a full second off of the American record.

Despite missing today?s cut, Farnham enjoyed success at the Championships as he captured 13th place in the 50-free Thursday night.

Rising juniors Jenny Bradford and Will Vietti return to the pool on Saturday competing in the 100-free and 200-meter breaststroke events respectively. Tomorrow?s events are the final races for the week-long Championship.
