IRVINE, Calif.?Former Kentucky swimmer Daniel Farnham placed 13th overall, and fifth in the consolation heat of the 50-meter freestyle final at the 2006 ConocoPhillips National Championships in Irvine, Calif., Thursday night.

Rising junior Jenny Bradford touched in 16th place, and eighth in the consolation heat in the 50-free.

Farnham improved on his preliminary time of 23.21, by swimming the finals in 23.14. Cullen Jones captured first in a time of 21.94.

Bradford clocked in a time of 26.20. Kara Lynn Joyce nabbed first swimming in a time of 24.97.

Farnham and Bradford will both return to the pool to compete in the 100-free events. The men?s 100-free will be held Friday and the women?s on Saturday.
