BERLIN, Wisc. – Sophomore Kentucky golfer Dan Woltman (Beaver Dam, Wisc.) captured the 105th Wisconsin State Amateur title Thursday by winning a sudden-death playoff at the Mascoutin Golf Club in Berlin Wisc.
Woltman, who finished the tournament with a 4-under-par 284, trailed the tournament?s leader by seven strokes with 17 holes remaining in the tournament. On the final 17 holes, Woltman made two eagles and three birdies to force the sudden-death playoff.
Woltman made par on the playoff hole and captured the tournament over Wisconsin?s Charlie Delsman.
Woltman and Kentucky begin their 2006-07 season on Sept. 5 when they travel to Tanagura, Japan to compete in the Topy Cup.
