BATON ROUGE, La. ? Senior Kentucky golfer Erin Faulkner (Bowling Green, Ky.) carded a team-best 72 Sunday on the final day of the 25th annual LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic as the Wildcats finished the three-day tournament in ninth place. The Cats tallied a three-round total of 913 (303-308-302) for the event, hosted by LSU at the school?s University Club.

Auburn claimed the tournament title after shooting a 9-over-par 873 (297-289-287) over the three-day tournament. Host LSU finished second with an 11-over-par 875 (298-290-287). Six of the field?s top nine teams were from the Southeastern Conference, as Vanderbilt, Alabama, Mississippi State and UK all finished in the top nine of the tournament field.

Faulkner finished in a tie for 21st place with a 225 (75-78-72) to lead the Wildcats, while senior Ali Kicklighter (DeLand, Fla.) and junior Katie Johnson (Lexington, Ky.) each concluded tournament play in a tie for 44th place with 229s.

Sophomore Elizabeth Dotson (White Bluff, Tenn.) finished in a tie for 54th place with a 233 (80-77-76), and sophomore Beth Felts (Chattanooga, Tenn.) concluded play in a tie for 77th place with a 240 (83-79-78) to round out the tournament field for the Wildcats.

Junior Marissa Muir (Tucson, Ariz.), competing as an individual, fired a 244 (83-82-79) to finish in 89th place.

Kentucky returns to action March 11-12 when it travels to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational. Live stats will be available at golfstat.com, while complete results and a recap will be available on ukathletics.com.
